Haiti Relief

As we are all following the tragic news in Haiti and the loss of life, property,

and widespread destruction, we seek ways to reach out. We have been in contact with the Union School, which is the international school in Haiti, via Twitter messages and several other contacts. Although sketchy, it appears people are seeking refuge at the school in undamaged areas and there has been widespread loss.

Haiti-1

In my experience, the best thing we can do is provide funds to assist in the
recovery effort. ASB has created an account and will collect funds for the next
two weeks. The funds we raise will be given to the Union School, so that the
school director, Marie France Jean-Baptiste, with her students and faculty can best impact those in need.

I would encourage us all to make a contribution to the Union School account we have set up. Contributions can be made at the business office and the link to the Union School is below:

I regret to share that two siblings of members of the ASB
community are missing in Haiti. The families have asked that I not share the
names at this juncture and our thoughts and prayers are with them.

Yes

It could happen any time, tornado,
earthquake, Armageddon. It could happen.
Or sunshine, love, salvation.

It could, you know. That’s why we wake
and look out—no guarantees
in this life.

But some bonuses, like morning,
like right now, like noon,
like evening.
